The Spirit of The Radio

Many of you probably have heard something about Rush or Neil Peart from me so, since Jay posted one of his all time favorite songs I felt like I should to so that you guys know why I appreciate Neil's talent sooo much. these guys are in their late 50's maybe their early 60's. Anyway I believe that of all the old bands still performing Rush has taken the cake as far as staying dedicated to the technicalities of their music. The first thing that struck me about that who video is that the bass and drums were not spot on, which is very rarely the casse with Rush. Anyway thats my little blurb on Rush so enjoy!.

The Fight for Peace (Cont.)

Weeping and nashing of teeth! Just when it seemed like everything was going to settle down, fallen man reared his ugly head. I know everyone's not in an what went down, but let me say this: things just got way more complicated. Now we have an insurrestion in the UNW to deal with, and strained relationships with our most powerful allies, one of which doesn't care about peace and is only out for a fight! Honestly, even I'm feeling a little bleak right now, but I'm going to write a speech over the weekend that hopefully can get us back on the right track.

The Fight for Peace

Will war break out among the countries? How long can the rest of the world stay at peace while the Penlandian nationalists break out against the Bahkanian people? What will come next?

Ambassador Elzinga of Sandia says:
"With the up coming festival in Morovia, we are hoping that sufficient funds will be raised to aid the Bahkans, while peace and unity between the countries will strengthen. This is much needed due to the violent nationalism and abidextrous nature of some of the political leaders who seem to be shifting toward betraying past alliances."

Summertime Entertainment.

As we are all aware, summertime is a great time for the entertainment industry to release new movies and music for the average American consumer to, well, um, consume. This is the place to post what you are looking forward to in the summer concerning the entertainment industry.

I'll start:
Movies:
Garfield: A Tale of Two Kitties

The first movie wasn't a classic, but was enjoyable and entertaining. With this one parodying a Dickens classic, I expect this one to possibly beat the first one. Out: June 16

X-men 3: The Last Stand

I loved the first 2 installments. With this one adding the likes of Beast, Angel, Shadowcat, ang Juggernaut (although subtracting the lovable Nightcrawler), I expect to be pleased and to get pumped for more action movies later in the season. Out: May 26

Music:

Less Than Jake - In With The Out Crowd

One of the most influential bands of the 90's rock scene - and one of the most forgotten, uncredited, and overlooked by the general public. Gone are the days of 3rd wave ska music about having a good time from releases like "Pezcore" and "Losing Streak". Going are the catchy horn lines (only 6 songs with them this time, with 2 horn lines completely unnecessary). But in its replacement is a set of 12 VERY solid pop-punk songs mostly about reminiscing about your life and reflecting on what the world is like these days, continuing the theme of their 2003 album "Anthem". These guys deserve the check-out. Key Tracks: "In-dependence Day", "The Rest of My Life", "P.S. Shock the World". Out: May 23

Angels and Airwaves - We Don't Need to Whisper

While blink-182 is on hiatus, guitarist Tom Delonge put together a new band to continue with music he thought didn't suit blink's style. This music is very inpirational, a really uplifting experience for times when you are down. If you like U2, the Cure, or Coldplay, you'll like this too. Check out "Valkyrie Missile", "The Adventure", and "The War". Out: May 23

AFI - Decemberunderground

While the only song I've heard from this album is "Miss Murder", I can tell at least I will likely be pleased by this release. This album will more than likely have a very dark tone, but that's what their trademark is, isn't it? Out: June 6th.

I have spoken. Your turn.

24!!!

Wow, what a season!!! I was at near heartbreak when rumor had it that this would be the last season- not so. What a set up for season 6- just when you thought Jack would restore his relationship with his daughter, the chinses ninjas capture him! How will he get out of this one? This season had many a plot twist, action, tragedies, and victories all in 24 hours. Unfortuantely, many of you have missed out on the best Fox show ever, but don't worry because there is still another season to jump into! With such a season as that, i think it leaves us with alot of questions and comments to offer.

HOT HOT HEAT!

Whew! I just heard on the radio the two hottest places in Oregon today: the Dalles, 98 degrees; Newberg, 97.5 degrees. Anytime you walked out of class you could feel the heat envelop your body, and after school I went for a 70 cent Powerade at Micky D's. As of right now, I'm sitting in my climate controlled home, spreading the word of the day: HOT!

Much Ado About Nothing...

If you have any thoughts about the current play production (i.e. casting thoughts, acting ideas you've got, etc.), this is the place to post them (hey, SOMEBODY had to post this).
Myself, I think the casting was well done. Personally, I like both my roles, those of Borachio and Friar Francis. I am excited that I get to play a slimeball (Borachio) this time around, as I have mostly played "father figures" in the past (Baptista, Brandon...waitaminute, she likes casting me with names beginning with "B"). And I like the idea of playing Francis as well, because this gives me a an opportunity to play polar opposites in the same play. But I'm done rambling. Let's hear your comments!

Frisbee Frenzy!

By now you've probably noticed that during our lunch period a band of idyllic youths have taken to tossing the old pie tin around the field. I am proud to be on of them. The merits of frisbee are the level of difficulty presented coupled with unmatched grace of a successful throw. I would laud Ultimate Frisbee as the activity of choice for Field Day, and if any of you concur, please say so.

So What Do You Guys Do On Your Weekends?

Yup, Chase and I were a little bored today cuz it wasn't sunny outside and nobody was home so, we just played in the garage for a liitle while. Not that you guys care but this is just helping me fill some time before I go to youthgroup. So take it easy everybody. I hope your sunday afternoon was more profitable than my own.

Who Wants One?

Okay here's the deal. Apparently our French movie was a success and, shockingly enough some people have not yet seen it, who want to. If this is the case let me know and I'll try to get you a copy. Even if you have seen it and you (whoa crazy, as im sitting here typing my Dad is playing some werid version of "You Gotta Serve Someone") want to have a copy let me know. And if you guys think we should continue making films let us know. And if you have any GOOD ideas of what we should do let us know and we MIGHT consider it.
