Bob

So, for my 18th birthday my parents got me and my brother tickets to the Bob dylan concert in Portland. It's actually the first concert I've been to, and it was definately great. Bob was backed by a 4 piece band . He played keyboards the whole time, which was a little dissapointing, especially since his guitar was sitting center stage the whole time. He did 16 songs, 4 off his new album and the rest from his extensive catalouge. I knew almost all of them, but the P.A. system at Memorial Colesium made it hard to hear. The concert on a whole was very blusey, and by the end it was definately rockin and everyone was on their feet. There were a few songs I wish he would have done tonight, but I guess thats just another reason to see him play again sometime.

That's awesome Jay! It's really cool you got to go see someone you enjoy so much. I had a friend up here that just went and saw him too. I hope you had an excellent time listening to one of your favorite singers. (He is right?) Anyway Also Happy Birthday, I"m sorry I missed it. I hope you had a great time celebrating your eighteenth. Congrats!!

Cool man. I haven't been to a concert in probably a year and a half (though I had a close call two weeks ago), so good for you. Happy 18th (on Tuesday).

You know, I'd half expect him to play more stuff from his new album at his shows.

Jay, you lucky dog, you mentioned that he was coming through here a while back. I'm so happy for you, really, it must have been a terrific show. I'll probably give you a ring, but if not you have a great birthday on Tues.

It was very sweet, although some guy spilled beer on my poster. If you havn't heard his new album I'd reccomend getting ahold of it. On second thought, get ahold of all of his albums, then you begin to get a glimpse of who this guy really is. I was telling Mrs. Newby that he's such an enigma, who follows God in a unique way characteristic of his unique experience. He simply tells about what he sees wit some of the greatest lyrics ever written. I was thinking about this last night, and I'm convinced he is the greatest American musician ever.

Quite a claim, but I can't think of anyone else who can be called that, so I'll have to check him out.
